Reality TV star Theresa Nist, known for her appearance on “The Golden Bachelor,” expressed her admiration for her daughter, Jen Woolston, who played a significant role in the wedding planning process leading up to Theresa’s marriage to Gerry Turner.
Theresa, 70, told People in an article published on Tuesday, January 2, that Jen has been a lifesaver throughout the planning process. “There were countless decisions to be made, and in many instances, she would create vision boards for me or gather ideas for dresses, veils, and rings,” Theresa shared. Jen, who will also serve as the maid of honor, has taken care of most of the logistics, leaving only a few decisions remaining before the televised ceremony on Thursday, January 4.
Theresa, a financial services professional, explained that Jen consistently presents her with excellent ideas, to which she readily agrees. She humorously admitted, “Seriously, I don’t know if there would be a wedding if she wasn’t involved.”
Gerry, 72, also shared that his daughters, Jenny Young and Angie Warner, his granddaughters, Theresa’s son Tommy, and her six grandchildren will all be part of the ceremony. “They’re all involved,” he said. “Every family member has a place in the wedding party… It couldn’t be any other way.”
In addition to being a special day for Gerry and Theresa, who got engaged during the finale of “The Golden Bachelor” in November 2023, the wedding also falls on Jen’s birthday. “It’s the biggest gift for her,” Theresa expressed, highlighting her daughter’s joy that the wedding coincides with her birthday. “She fell in love with Gerry.”
Jen, who spoke exclusively to Life & Style in December 2023, expressed her gratitude for being involved in the wedding preparations. Working in the wedding industry herself, she stated, “I love weddings. And then this is like the ultimate wedding you know that Mindy Weiss is planning and everything… It’s going to feel sort of like a big surprise, really.”
Jen mentioned that she was diligently working on her maid-of-honor speech while Theresa was writing her vows. They were also making last-minute decisions, such as selecting ceremony songs and finalizing garment alterations.
Furthermore, Jen shared her positive impression of Gerry before officially becoming his daughter-in-law. She revealed that she had the opportunity to get to know Gerry, Angie, and Jenny after Theresa and Gerry’s engagement. Their relationship felt natural and good to Jen, and she expressed excitement about the future.
