Following her breakup with Joe Jonas in September, Sophie Turner leaned on her close group of girlfriends for support. Reflecting on her year, the actress shared a series of photos on Instagram on January 2, including a never-before-seen picture with Taylor Swift.
In her post, Sophie, 27, captioned the images, “2023 was the year of the girlies. 2024’s forecast is looking fairly consistent.” One of the photos featured a group shot taken during the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game in October. Sophie attended the game with Taylor, 34, Sabrina Carpenter, and other friends.
Sophie has been spending a significant amount of time in New York City with Taylor since her split from Joe, 34. Taylor, who previously dated Joe in 2008, even provided Sophie with one of her investment properties in the city as a temporary residence for Sophie and her daughters, Willa (3) and Delphine (17 months), in 2023.
After Joe filed for divorce from Sophie in September, the former couple briefly engaged in a custody battle. They agreed to keep their daughters in New York City during the proceedings, which was when Sophie stayed at Taylor’s place.
By October, they reached a temporary custody arrangement that established specific timelines for the girls to spend time with each parent. Willa and Delphine traveled to the United Kingdom in mid-December to celebrate the holidays with Sophie and are scheduled to remain in her care until January 7. The temporary agreement did not outline custody arrangements beyond that date, but both parties were required to submit a status report letter to the court regarding the progress of their mediation by December 23.
While spending time with her closest girlfriends after the separation, Sophie seemed to enjoy the single life. On October 28, she was photographed kissing Peregrine “Perry” Pearson outside a train station in France. They also attended the Rugby World Cup together that evening.
In December, photos surfaced of Sophie kissing Tabitha Doherty while enjoying a meal together in Notting Hill, London. Sophie had previously spoken openly about her sexuality, stating, “Everyone experiments. It’s part of growing up. I love a soul, not a gender. I’ve met enough guys to know – I’ve met enough girls to know.”
Sophie and Joe were together for seven years before their split. They began dating in 2016, got engaged in October 2017, eloped in Las Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards in May 2019, and had their official wedding ceremony in France the following month. Their daughters, Willa and Delphine, were born in July 2020 and July 2022, respectively.
